Project Description

Manor house master bedroom dressing room.

This Manor house was originally built in the Edwardian era, and is steeped in character.

This dressing room needed to incorporate as much storage space as possible, and have a dressing table. Whilst being square in shape the room offered high ceilings which enabled me to design four full height wardrobes that wrapped around two walls, and then mirrored on the other side of the room with the dressing table and vanity units.

I wanted to take full advantage of the beautifully framed window on the rear wall that overlooked the grounds. This is where the dressing table needed to be situated.

One of the main challenges on this project was working around an original heating water pipe that ran the length of the rear wall and supplied the only radiator in the room. The dressing table is designed around this and hidden behind a framed detachable screen underneath the dressing table.

I designed a refined version of a traditional shaker, with long elegant lines and small framework details that helped it blend in and feel at home in this amazing property.
